Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle
It seems you can't be the most popular game on earth and not have your own version of Harry Potter. Harry Potter is one of the best-selling books of all time, for Dumbledore's sake, and so Lego just had to do it: come out with the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle.
Be your best self and get ready to embark on a magical adventure inside the Lego Hogwarts Castle! The Lego set comes with Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Trelawney and two (2) dementors, so you can bravely explore the very insides of Castle just as good as if you were there yourself.
Watch out for the sinister dementors though, because they're bound to ruin the fun and suck the life energy out of you. You don't want that.
Or if you want, you can add in more characters to the milieu such as Lord Voldemort himself, Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, Mrs. Norris, Argus Filch and more Dementors for more exciting chases requiring the difficult Patronus Charm to successfully fend them off.
Surprisingly enough, this Lego Castle is made in all the likeness, as much as possible, of the Hogwarts Castle we have come to love both in the book as well as in the film. The Lego version has even got the clock tower with the swinging pendulum, the Gryffindor Tower, as well as secret rooms even Harry has never ventured in before.
It is so incredibly detailed that both hard-core and non-fans can appreciate it. You'll get to see Dumbledore's office with its sliding spiral staircase. You can even visit the Slytherin and Gryffindor common rooms, and listen to Professor Trelawney's fascinating divination lectures in her eclectic classroom.
With the seventh and last installment of the Harry Potter film close upon us, as well as the Christmas season itself, Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle is more popular and more in-demand than ever. Satisfy your kid's quest for wizardry and curiosity in magic with this handsomely-detailed, faithfully-rendered Castle.

Joanne Rowling, Creator of Harry Potter - Everything You Need to Know
Joanne Rowling better known as the creator of Harry Potter was born on 31st July, 1965 in Yate, Gloucestershire, England. She has a sister, two years younger to her, Dianne. She studied Primary school at St. Michaels. It is said that the head master at school was the inspiration for the Harry Potter headmaster, Albus Sumbledore. Even when she was five years old she told stories to her younger sister about rabbit and bees.
Her secondary education took place at Wyedean School and college. She had a flair for literature. After graduating from Wyedean she attended Exeter University and studied French, to take up a career as a bilingual secretary. But secretary ship was the last thing she wanted to do.
By the time she was 26 she had suffered the shock of her mother's demise from multiple sclerosis after suffering for about ten years. She then moved to Portugal and taught English. Here she started working on a story about a wizard; she recalls that the idea of a fantasy series came to her while she was on a train journey from Manchester to London.
She married a journalist, and after the birth of her daughter within a year her marriage ended in a divorce. She moved on to Scotland, Edinburg along with her daughter.
From now on she was determined to get the Harry Potter wizard novel finished and published. She applied for and received a grant from the Scottish Arts Council to complete her novel. Finally when her novel was completed on an old manual typewriter, she sold the rights to Bloomsbury U.K. for about $4000. Ms. Rowling's happiest moment came when A Levine books/scholastics press bought the American rights to the first Harry potter novel. She could now maintain herself and her daughter and write full time.
Recognition came very soon for Ms. Rowling and Harry potter. The first book "Harry potter and the Philosophers stone" won the British book Awards for Children's book of the year and the Nestle smarties book prize. In the U.S the same book was renamed "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".
The sequels came one after another. In 1998 came "Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets." A year later came "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". These three books only made Ms. Rowling a household name. The series topped the top three slots in the Newyork time best sellers list in the U.S.A and U.K.
The fourth book 'Harry potter and the Goblet of fire" came in 2000 and was a record breaker in sales in both the countries
Three years passed and then came the fifth book "Harry potter and the order of the Phoenix". This book was again a record breaker.
The sixth book "Harry potter and the half blood Prince" too broke all sales record in the 2005.
The title of the seventh and final book of the series was released in 2006, "Harry potter and the deadly hallows". The book was release in 2007. It was sold out and a huge success.
She was filmed for a documentary which was aired in Britain on ITV. It was titled "J.K.Rowling... a year in the life". Her books have inspired an interest in reading among children at a time when they prefer Television and computer to books. Critics' are of the opinion that the impacts of these books on the children need to be evaluated.
All the books in the series have been filmed and have been a huge success with the audiences of all ages. She has married Neil Michael Murray in 2001 and has two children from this marriage. She has plans to continue writing and a book titled "Political fairy tale for children" is nearing completion.
She has established the volant charitable trust to combat Poverty, social inequalities, one parent families and multiple sclerosis research.

Artemis Fowl and The Time Paradox by Eoin Colfer - Book Review
It's still not clear to most of us why Harry Potter became a rage among the readers and Artemis Fowl did not (though a strong fan following for the later series also cannot be denied). We should be just glad that we got both the series almost at the same time. There are, of course, some similarities between the two characters. Both of them live in a world of magic though it's secret (the magic world) and has to remain that way. The way J K Rowling has written Harry Potter is slightly conservative, but Artemis Fowl innovates his way out of trouble (and creates anarchy).
Don't Miss Out On the Fun
Artemis Fowl And The Time Paradox is the sixth book in the series and is just joy and nothing else. The only drawback is, it would be great if you have read the earlier parts in the series - otherwise you'd need time to grow accustomed to the characters. You'd be missing out on some fun also (if you don't know what happened in the earlier books).
The Secret World Should Remain Secret
In the first book, the hero comes across a secret world where he captures Captain Holly Short so he could get out of magical siege (and get ransom for his future endeavors). Most of the supporting cast started their lives in the first book of the series itself, therefore many jokes and dialogs are shaped by what happened in the earlier parts, so you need to read those books if you want to enjoy The Time Paradox fully.
Amazing Supporting Cast
All the supporting characters are just amazing, including Butler (the bodyguard of Artemis Fowl), Julius Root (Capt Holly Short's boss), Foaly (the tech support person) and the flatulent dwarf, Mulch Diggums. In one book Artemis was up against Opal Koboi, who was trying to provoke a war between the People and humans. With time Artemis Fowl has become more mature, and his arrogance has reduced from the days when he was a new character in the first book itself.
Have You Ever Met Your Younger Self?
Even the relationship between Capt Holly Short and the hero has become complicated. He was also in trouble later on due to the fairy enhanced supercomputer which he sold to the mafia. The time paradox storyline is set in the time just after The Lost Colony, in which the hero is back from an adventure but he is three years late (than what he expected). His mother has been diagnosed with a rare disease which had almost finished The People once - Spelltropy. The only possible cure is through the animal Madagascan silky sifaka lemur which became extinct due to Artemis Fowl himself, some years ago. The only way he can save his mother is by going back in time and confronting his younger self to get that animal.

Magic Wand Remote Control - A Guide On How To Store Commands On The Harry Potter TV Remote
The Kymera magic wand remote control has revolutionized the way people control all the electrical devices in their home. With its wand-like shape it let's users feel like harry potter every time they change channels. You may be someone who has recently purchased one of these amazing devices. You may also be someone who has seen it on YouTube and it is now on your list of must-have gadgets. Either way there may be one question burning in your mind about this. How do you save command on this?
The magic wand remote control can record up to 13 different gestures for controlling functions on different devices. These gestures vary from rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise to flick up or flick down. They allow different functions to occur such as adjusting volume or changing channel. The wand works by copying infra-red signals from the electrical devices. This is a pattern of light that sends simple instructions to the receiver units on your electrical goods.
However, you must use different gestures for each function in order to avoid more than one device being activated at the same time. You must therefore tell the wand that that's the command you want for that particular gesture.
So how do you teach the want to learn a new command?
Firstly you need to put the wand in save mode. This is done by holding it with the tip facing upwards and tapping it twice with your finger. The wand will then vibrate to tell you it is ready to learn a new gesture. Once you have performed the new gesture the wand will vibrate again to tell you that command has been stored.
You can also copy commands from your existing remote control. Simply press the button on the manufacturer's remote you wish to copy and point this towards the tip of the wand. Once you have done this point the wand downwards and tap once with your finger to save this command.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J K Rowling
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the story of the final confrontation between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, the leader of Death Eaters. It has taken 10 years for J K Rowling to complete the epic and the roots of the story can be easily spotted in the Star Wars, Dickens, Greek myths and to top it all, it has a big screen closure (just what you expect in huge epics). The confrontation itself is bone chilling and heart racing, though the race toward the finish line has its own fair share of bumps. At the same time it must be said, the way the characters of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows have concluded their journey has a convincing inevitability towards it.
The Series Is Getting Darker Than Ever
With every part of the series, the Harry Potter series has become darker than ever, but the author J K Rowling still creates the sarcasm of Ron and philosophical gravity of Harry Potter effortlessly. Overall, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be remembered for the initiation of Harry Potter into the complexity and sadness of the adult world.
The Burden of Leadership
Right from the days when his education started at Hogwarts, Harry has shouldered the burden of being a leader, coping with all the duties beautifully, though he still nurtures a wish to be an ordinary teenager. The parents of Harry Potter are already dead, apart from his godfather Sirius and Professor Dumbledore. About half a dozen more important characters die, and the losses for Harry are increasing with unfailing regularity. Other important people in Harry's life are either wounded or are being tortured. Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic have been infiltrated by the followers of Voldemort, and everyone in the population is now forced to take sides.
Overwhelmed and Disillusioned
J K Rowling makes it only natural that Harry feels overwhelmed and disillusioned at times. Controlling his temper is a struggle for him, as he sets about the search for Horcruxes, magical objects in which parts of the soul of Voldemort are stashed. He enters a dark wood, where he has to fight the Death Eaters as well as his own despair and prejudices.
The Psychic Connection Grows Stronger
The psychic connection that Harry has with Voldemort has also grown stronger with time; as a result he keeps getting clues about the actions of Voldemort and also gets lured towards the dark side. The turning point of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, however, is the decision by Harry whether to continue on the mission assigned to him by Dumbledore or should he go after Hallows, which will make him the master of death. Whatever decision he takes, the final showdown is inevitable. He will also have to come to terms with his own weaknesses and others', and the equation between free will and fate.

Phoenix Tattoo Design
If there was one majestic bird that captivated thousands of audience members of the Harry Potter books and movies; it was that of Professor Dumbledore's magnificent pet - the Phoenix. This bird, which is represented in many different cultures, can also be found in abundance of the backs of tattoo aficionados. Why on the back, I am not too sure, but it seems like the proper place for such an exuberant, mythical creature!
The phoenix of Egyptian mythology speaks of an ancient bird that cry was so soulful and beautiful that it could captivate humans in a purely magical way. The creature is said to have lived in the desert for 500 years before it would consume itself in a blaze of fire. Then, from its own ashes, it would be reborn to live another 500 years! As it flew through the skies above, it could leave a trail of fire, thus alerting all to its presence.
The phoenix of Chinese origin was composed much like other Chinese creatures - out of parts of other (more widely known and recognized) animals. It was said to have the head of a pheasant, a comb on top of its head (the red, floppy part of a rooster), the beak of a bird (specifically a swallow), the neck of a tortoise, and flame-like appendages (those appendages were similar to that of a common bird). It was an imaginary animal considered a bird of good luck and longevity. (Really, is there anything Chinese that is not considered THAT?!) The phoenix of China was meant to have several different colors of feathers. They were red, yellow, black, blue, and white. All colors contained the hidden virtues. Red stands for a long life and good luck; yellow is for protection against evil; black is for self-cultivation; blue is for knowledge; white is for peace and purity.
Many people tend to do what I feel I have done, as far as the Chinese culture is concerned. Lost in our own mutt-like heritages, we grasp for the beauty and intense values that revolve around both the language and the life that is its ancient culture. In the unending search to belong to something greater (that is, if religion is not much of an option that you are interested in), the Chinese proverbs and drops of wisdom that encompass many of the mythical creatures (phoenix, dragons, etc.) is truly appealing when trying to fill that void. Sorry about that - I seemed to have dropped into an abyss of deep thoughts!
For whatever the rhyme or reason that lurks behind this beast, the phoenix has become a symbol that many have decided truly "speaks" for them. The wiles of a tattoo tend to surface, and, lo and behold, a phoenix spreads its painted wings on the backs of others, for all to see. It makes me wonder if all of the virtues that the colors hold to, can somehow seep into me . . . perhaps a new tattoo in my future? Let me consult my fortune cookie.

History of Encryption and Ciphers
Carrying messages across enemy lines, setting up midnight rendezvous, or secret attacks all have been strengthened by using secret codes. Ciphers and codes have been used since ancient times in many different shapes and forms to protect messages from being intercepted. Ciphers and codes have even crept into many popular mediums from Harry Potter books to the hit movie and book, The Da Vinci Code. (1).
Today, we still see ciphers in the form of encryption. Encryption is the ability to render a message unreadable without special knowledge to decrypt it. It's everywhere, from encrypted government secrets to emails sent around the office; the use of encryption has become a part of everyday life.
Ciphers and Codes
Though ciphers and codes are often thought to be the same they are, in fact, two separate methods for disguising communication data.
Codes provide exchanges for pictures, words, or numbers for words or phrases and will only have a set amount of words or phrases that can be decoded.
Ciphers exchange individual letters for other letters or numbers breaking down messages to a far greater degree (1). a
Ciphers also have the advantage of being able to be shifted very quickly since instead of having a set number of phrases or words in a code it uses an algorithm to define any possible word or phrase.
Through the complex and systematic nature of ciphers, which are used over codes for encryption. By looking at the history of ciphers we can get a better understanding of how and why encryption works in today's world.
Atbash - A Basic Cipher
Early religion provided us with some of the most basic ciphers we know about. Judaism brought forth the Atbash. Atbash is a "substitution cipher", which means that every letter is exchanged for another in the alphabet. In this case, it's the first letter of the alphabet for the last. While this is very basic, most people couldn't read let alone break codes at 600BC.
When in Rome, Keep Secrets: The Caesar Shift
Ancient Rome and famed emperor Julius Caesar carried ciphers to new level. Caesar used a cipher as a means to carry commands to his generals and allies. Using what would be later dubbed "Caesar shift", he made his messages unreadable to those who didn't have the shift sequence.
Another form of substitution cipher the method was to simply shift the letter wanted by three later for example, A > D, B >E and C >F. If a message said "spy" would look like this in the Caesar Shift:
S > V, P >S and Y >B. vsb
The phrase "ad astra," shoot for the stars would translate to "DG DVWUD" in the Caesar Shift
It was quickly adapted to be any variable amount of places in the shift.
Rot13 - A Cipher Novelty
ROT13 sounds like something Hermione Granger uses on her O.W.L.s.(2) , but is a variation of the Caesar Shift, it uses a 13 letter/character replacement sequence. Rot13 is still used often today, though more as novelty than keeping any secrets.
Message boards that reveal the ending of a book or movie have used the Rot13 method to protect others from accidentally reading spoilers. Harry Potter fans, you may just find out what "he who must not be named" means to do to young Mr. Potter in book seven, the Deathly Hallows.
Modern Encryption
The advent of the computer revolutionized the world of codes. All of the ciphers above could be cracked with computer programs in a matter of seconds with the right software. Both the building and breaking of stronger ciphers have been blazing along as technology provides new tools that have forever changed cryptography. Modern uses of ciphers have led to advanced computer technology that is known as encryption.
One method of encryption is Public Key Encryption (PKE). The PKE cipher is radically stronger than those used in ancient times. Imagine two prime numbers (a number that can only be divided by one and itself) for example 17 and 13. When you multiply these two numbers you come up with 221, and is known as the modulus.
To an outsider, 221 would have no meaning since there are plenty of factors that could be broken down. There also needs to be a random number that has a value somewhere between 1 and the product of the two prime numbers. In a PKE cipher, a formula is made where the a variable will be sought out:
Prime#1 * Prime#2= A
Random# must be between 1 and A
Solution Must be a whole Number
(X * random# )-1 = (Prime#1-1) * (Prime#2-1)
X will be the private key used for the encryption and the two prime numbers will be the public key given out. As you can see, if PKE is Superman, Atbash is an amoeba.
To find each number's code you would take the value of a number (A=1 and... Z=26) and raise it to the power of the random number used earlier. After that each number is figured out using a system called "modular arithmetic" (3) .
If all this sounds confusing don't worry that's the point of cipher! The prime numbers used in software encryptions are hundreds of digits long. Making it dramatically more secure and difficult for someone to try and discover how the code can be broken. It would take the Bat computer, Professor Dumbledore and a legion of Scooby's to break a PKE cipher.
For encrypting computer files, the same process occurs where the file is broken up into sections of bits. The smaller the number of bits per section, the stronger the level of encryption will be. Instead of letters being converted it is 0 and 1 of binary.
Evolution of Encryption: Email Anti-Theft, Locking Down Your Email
Not only has the strength of encryption increased by leaps and bounds with computer speeds, but it has become used in everyday actions. Email Anti-Theft software can allow individuals who know nothing about encryption to apply heavy protection settings to outbound email files with the same ease as an unencrypted email. Email anti-theft technology allows a system where there's no manual key exchange, yet the outbound email files don't lose any encryption strength when sent outside your company.
Importance of Encryption
Computers aren't the expensive and slow behemoths they were in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Today the even the most affordable PC is able to store countless files and run thousands of scenarios a minute. To protect private information the encryptions has to be strong enough to endure computerized attacks.
A weak cipher can have its algorithm discovered and deciphered quickly; where as strong encryption could withstand almost any length of deciphering assaults (4) . While you may not be sending commands to you armies in the east, your email messages, banking documents and other private bits of data still deserve the highest level of security.

Dark Lord and Other Scary Halloween Costume Ideas
Dark Lord costumes and other scary Halloween costume ideas. When You hear Dark Lord Costume, who do you think of? I know two villains who fit the profile. One is from the Star Wars movies and the other from Harry Potter.
Now you know which Dark Lords I am referring to, don't you. The most evil villain from Star Wars is, of course, the dark Sith Lord, Darth Vader. Once a Jedi knight himself, Darth fell to the Dark Side of the force, losing all that was once dear to him. He became, slowly, a half man half machine, who lost complete touch with his humanity. Fierce and Scary as he is, he sure makes a great Halloween costume!
There is one costume of the Dark Sith, Lord Vader, that actually has the breathing device is in it. This Star Wars Collector's Darth Vader Costume and costs way more than I would spend, but the costume is made from the same material and patterns from Lucas Studios as the costumes worn by the actors when they filmed Star Wars. So it's got to be a pretty nice looking costume. There are, thank goodness, other versions of the Darth Vader costume, that are more affordable. You can also buy all kinds of accessories to go with your costume to make it more real.
Now, who did you think of when I said Dark Lord...was it he who cannot be named? Yes, of course, I mean Lord Voldemort...Tom Riddle, evil soul-less villain from the Harry Potter movies. The monster who killed James and Lily Potter and attempted to kill little infant Harry. You can become the Dark Lord for Halloween this year.
Why do we always like the scary costumes? I don't know, but I know it's true! There is a Female Death Eater Bellatrix costume too, for those girls who want to be scary this year. There is a dementor costume as well.
Take a look at our Dark Lord Costumes, which ever one you choose. Try not to scare too many people while you are out trick or treating!

Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Review
The latest Lego collection has been released and it's sure to be hugely popular amongst Lego and Harry Potter fans alike. Just in time for Christmas 2010, the new collaboration between Lego and perhaps the most popular series of Children's books ever - these sets are clearly going to be in high demand.
Lego Harry Potter depicts some of the most iconic scenes and places from the HP series, including Hagrid's Hut, Hogwarts Castle and the two sets we are reviewing today, the Hogwarts Express and The Burrows...
Join Harry and Ron at the point where they meet Professor Lupin on the Hogwarts Express, Lego 4758 includes Hogsmeade Station, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Professor Lupin and a Dementor! You can lift off the lid of the passenger car and place Harry and Ron inside or pull the steering house cable to reveal a secret compartment!
A highly detailed set, the Lego Hogwarts Express is pure magic! There's 646 pieces that go into making this majestic set which is so fun to build! I built it with the help of my nephew, who was in awe of the vibrant red colour and took great pleasure in creating the Hogwarts Coat of Arms. A five years old he's at just the right age to appriciate how satisfying it is to finish a Lego build!
The second set we put together was The Burrow; a scene from Order of the Phoenix, featuring the Weasley's Christmas gathering, when they were forced to abandon their home following the arrival of the Death Eaters! A less complex set, The Burrow is a three storey asymmetrical house that features a pig pen, bedrooms and kitchen. As with all Lego sets, it comes with intricately detailed mini figures - six in total; Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley, Bellatrix Lestrange and Fenrir Greyback...and a little pig!
Made up of 568 pieces it's a little time-consuming to put together and not as quirky looking as I'd hoped. I was however, once more impressed with the level of detail and all the little extras that were included...like the flames and reeds!
All-in-all, the Lego HP sets are fantastic value for money and beautifully detailed. Kids and adults will really enjoy creating these sets together.

'Deathly Hallows' - A Literal Page-Turner
Fans adore it. Critics love it. It's flying out of bookstores at a record-setting pace.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the much-anticipated final book in J.K. Rowling's fantasy series, sold 8.3 million copies in 24 hours starting Friday at midnight, U.S. publisher Scholastic reported Sunday. First printing: 12 million, the most ever for a Potter book. The books are out; the word is spreading. "The last Potter is amazing. It has definitely gone way beyond what I expected," Deb Kiehlmeier, 16, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, said of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which was released on Saturday to worldwide ecstasy.
Within 24 hours after J K Rowling opened her copy of the book at London's Natural History Museum a minute past Friday night, the book has become the fastest-selling novel in publishing history. Bloomsbury, the publisher, estimated three million copies were sold in the first 24 hours, almost a million more than the last Potter book. "Harry Potter fans are always trying to predict what will happen next, and J K Rowling always gives them something different," Kiehlmeier said. On Day 1 of the A H (After Harry) Era, reviewers and readers mourned the end of a historic series that proved young people can still crave the written word like the crispiest French fry.
Parties to herald the arrival proliferated around the city and across the country. At the Barnes & Noble in Union Square in Manhattan, lines snaked around the block as police officers ordered fans off the street. Downtown in SoHo at the McNally Robinson Bookstore, an adults-only group swilled "magic punch." And at the Borders at Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle, fans who had been given numbered wristbands earlier in the day thronged around the front of the store at midnight. "Are we ready for Harry Potter?" yelled the manager. "Yea!" the crowd screamed back.
In London, where the book went on sale five hours before New Yorkers could get their hands on a copy, Tineke Dijkstra, a 15-year-old fan from the Netherlands, had waited in line outside the Waterstone's in Piccadilly Circus for two days to ensure that she was one of the first ones to buy the book. "I slept three hours in the last two days in the rain," she said after emerging from the store with her copy. "I'm going to go and read one chapter and then go to sleep
Funded by the National Institute on Aging, the study appears in the July 26 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine.
The epilogue has happy families seeing off a new generation of Potters, Weasleys et al to Hogwarts and a sense of things coming full circle. J K Rowling has left her options open -- she can always dash off a whole new set of adventures if she ever gets bored of spending her billions. A wonderful feeling of peace pervades the last few pages -- the only part of the book where you get the feeling. The rest of it is packed with action, intrigue, thrilling duels and violent deaths.
Scores are settled; the young boys and girls who grew up before your eyes metamorphose into battle hardened warriors. The bumbling Neville Longbottom comes into his own; so does 'Looney' Luna Lovegood.
There's enough gore to satisfy the most bloodthirsty reader. If you're sentimental, you may weep for some of the prominent characters who meet a bloody end. But the chances are, you'll be too busy turning pages to get to the latest twist.
If you're wondering about the title, the deathly hallows are three objects which, united, make the possessor the master of death.
Incidentally, one of the three hallows has long been in Harry's own possession -- the Invisibility Cloak, which he has used to such good effect in several adventures.
Other familiar magical objects like the Polyjuice Potion, and Fred and George Weasley's bag of tricks too return, and play pivotal roles. And of course, there are the Horcruxes to be tracked down.
New light is shed on important characters like Dumbledore and Snape, which makes you re-assess whatever you may have thought about them so far. And insignificant characters -- like the bar man at Hog's Head -- suddenly leap into the limelight.
Instant assessment: The Deathly Hallows is Rowling back in fine form. Forget the meandering Order Of The Phoenix and the flabby, self-indulgent Half-Blood Prince.
Rowling loyalists will argue that those two books were necessary to tie up loose ends. Well, they served that purpose and set the stage for a stirring, no-holds-barred, cutthe-talk and bring-on-the-battles finale.
Rowling delivers. In style. And reminds you exactly what made the series such a huge cultural landmark to begin with.
