Harry Potter - Boy Wizard

There has been no fictional character in the last decade that has made as much of an impact as Harry Potter. Often credited with single handedly bringing kids back to books, J.K. Rowling's boy wizard is without a doubt the most popular fictional character of the last decade, and has made Rowling the most well known author of the last decade. Harry Potter trivia will show that his first appearance was in the book, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".

A Harry Potter Quiz will show that this wizard was the primary character in seven novels in the Rowling series. Those books were: "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", "The Chamber of Secrets", "The Prisoner of Azkaban", "The Goblet of Fire", "The Order of the Phoenix", "The Half Blood Prince", and "The Deathly Hallows". Each of the books became a best seller, and the later in the series were among the top book launches of all time.

Harry Potter trivia shows that the books have also been transitioned into a film series. An interesting piece of trivia was that one of Rowling's demands upon selling the film rights was that British actors be given the British parts. There had been a recent trend in Hollywood to cast American actors in British literary roles, and Rowling did not want that happening to her characters. Daniel Radcliffe has become famous worldwide for his portrayal of Harry Potter. Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have also become household names for playing Harry's friends Ron and Hermione.

A Harry Potter quiz will show that the franchise has given birth to a whole legendary mythos surrounding the series. Things like the uniforms the wizards are seen wearing in the movie have become the most popular Halloween costumes. Quidditch, the fictional wizarding game has become popular in video games. The series and the character have essentially become cultural institutions since they emerged.

The success of Harry has no recent parallel. J.K. Rowling has emerged as the most well read living author, and one of the richest women in the world based on the success of the series. Over 400 million books have been sold, and the total worth of the franchise is estimated to be over $15 billion, a far cry from the 1500 pounds she was paid initially for the first book.

Harry Potter Gift Ideas - Wands, Brooms, Books, and More

If you've got a young Harry Potter fanatic in the family, then Christmas and Birthday shopping just got a little easier. Thanks to the popularity of the stories and movies, there are many book sets, themed gifts, and even tasty candies for fans. Let's take a look at what's out there to give you some ideas:

Books and Book Sets

If the kids you're shopping for are already fans, they probably have all the books on their shelves, but if you're trying to get new readers interested in the series, giving them the books is a great way. You can start out with Book 1 (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, also called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the US) or you might also get one of the nice gift sets that includes all seven novels.

A box set costs about $60 for the series in paperback or about $120 for hardbacks.

If you're trying to fill gaps in a partial collection, here is a list of all the books in the correct reading order:

Book Reading Order

Harry Potter and the...

1. Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone
2. Chamber of Secrets
3. Prisoner of Azkaban
4. Goblet of Fire
5. Order of the Phoenix
6. Half-Blood Prince
7. Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter Wands, Brooms, and Other Toys and Gifts

If your young reader already has the books, then you may try other Harry Potter items as gifts. Just look online, and you can find all sorts of children's toys based on items from the series. Some of these are mass-produced gifts available at Amazon, Walmart, and the like, while others are lovingly crafted one-of-a-kinds (look for these on sites such as Etsy, which feature only handmade items).

Here are some ideas:

Harry's Wand
"Magic" Broom (replicas of the Nimbus 2000)
Sorting Hats
Movies on DVD
T-shirts and Caps
Stationary and Envelopes
Action Figures
Legos (The Durmstrang Ship is cool!)
Board Games (original games as well as JK Rowling versions of classics)
Pillows and Bedding
Robes and Halloween Costumes

Edible Harry Potter Gifts

While toys are always fun, it's hard to go wrong with gifts that kids can eat. In this category, you can find everything from Bertie Botts Every Flavor Jelly Beans (ketchup and pepper, anyone?) to custom cakes from the bakery (you'll have to order ahead of time, but many bakeries can do themed goodies).

If you fancy yourself a bit of a chef, you can also find recipes online that are inspired by the books. Try a Google search for "Harry Pottery recipes" if you long to make Cauldron Cakes, Jelly Slugs, or Pumpkin Juice.

There you have it: plenty of gift ideas for the young fantasy fans in your family. Christmas and birthday shopping should be a piece of cake this year!

4th of July Safety Tips

4th of July and should be a day of fun and celebration, but it is also one of the most dangerous days of the year. You can keep your Independence Day fun and safe when you follow the proper safety tips. Whatever your plans are for this holiday, be sure you remember these safety tips.

1. Remember the importance of fireworks safety: Fireworks are illegal in most cities and they are a fire hazard. Outside city zones where you are allowed to use fireworks, there is still the danger of fire and also of bodily injury. Always read all instructions properly and do not use near wooded or dry areas.

2. Always have water available to put out any sparks or flame that may occur when using fireworks.

3. Never point fireworks at people.

4. Do not allow children to play with fireworks or firecrackers.

5. Don't drink and drive. Always have a designated driver and don't let your friends drive drunk.

6. Be extra cautious on the road. Even if you are not drinking, other people can be. Drivers also become distracted by fireworks and other excitement in the area. Be extra cautious if you must be on the road this weekend, especially at night.

7. Be careful during barbecues that you do not start a fire. Be sure all coals are completely out before leaving the barbecue unattended. Be cautious of children playing around the barbecue area.

8. Store food properly to avoid food poisoning. Be careful of leaving food out- especially in the heat.

9. Remember to drink responsibly and to serve foods at the proper temperature.

10. Also, if you have pets, remember pet safety too. Don't let your beloved pet become a casualty this 4th of July.

Statistics show that over 7,000 people each year get treated for 4th of July related accidents. Don't be one of them. Stay safe this year.

Have a happy 4th of July!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Update: First Official Pics!

I'm Dana Ward, and the first official image from the popular movie series got released. It shows the main characters - as played by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson - seemingly walking forward, all eyes focused on something in front of them. Too bad we can't catch a glimpse of what Harry, Ron and Hermione are looking at, but we do know that this is front part one of the final movie remake. Deathly Hallows is based on the beginning of JK Rowling's 7th and final book in the series, and it's set to have a November 2010 release... followed by the LAST movie in the Potter saga, to be released in 2011. I'm Dana Ward for Clevver TV - thanks for watching our Quick Minute.

Harry Potter Is Now An A Level Classic

British examination standards have reached an all time low following confirmation that the book Harry Potter, by J K Rowling is to be included in the A-Level examination syllabus from next year.

Groan. Harry Potter is undeniably an imaginative piece of work; so imaginative it borders on gobbledygook. J K Rowling has managed to corner the children´s literature market admirably with her tales of the boy wizard and his adventures in the land of wherever. Not so admirably, I might add, as her PR machine has managed to corner the product support market, with such items as Harry Potter school bags, dolls, souvenir diaries and so on. It is this marketing machine that is responsible to the greater degree for the incredible success of the book series, not Ms Rowling´s dealthless talent as a writer.

The books were hailed as cult 'must-have's' from their first inception, making J K Rowling deservedly a millionairess overnight, with movie offers coming out of the woodwork. That does not, however, make her books appropriate curriculum material for students striving for university entrance. For some of us, it still did not make her books interesting enough to get past page fifty. In my case, I believe the books good enough to borrow but not to buy; a definite case of one man´s meat, methinks...

Such decisions taken by our boards of examiners might lead one to believe that we are fast running out of contemporary material for A Level study. Certainly we are going down a slippery slope if we are to accept that the standard now aspired to within the terms of literary success may be described at best as entering the realms of fantasy.

Harry Potter Full Sized Bedding - What Are Your Options When Most Retailers Only Sell Twin?

One of the most searched for Harry Potter items that is almost impossible to find is Harry Potter bedding in any size other than twin. Manufacturers seem to assume that Harry Potter fans or parents who are interested in buying Harry bedding only sleep in twin beds. This is just not true. Many younger children sleep in other than bunk or twin beds and many older children (and even teens and adults) are fanatical Harry Potter fans who are also shopping for bedding.

Currently, there is not one manufacturer who consistently makes full sized (or larger) Harry Potter bedding. However, there are a few options.

There is currently a full sized eight piece bed in a bag which includes: a double sided comforter; four pillow cases; a bed skirt; and both fitted and flat sheets. This item is sometimes available at various auction sites. It is blue in color and features Harry as depicted in the movie "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire" holding his wand.

If you are not able to find this Harry Potter bed in a bag set, there is another option. Often, you can find Harry Potter full sized (or larger) blankets. These blankets are often very attractive plaid meant to depict the Hogwarts school colors and uniforms. This option may well appeal to older children as it is more neutral and classic. Pair this blanket with solid colored sheets, pillow cases and bed skirt, and you're in business.

If you're a Harry Potter fan looking for full sized bedding, don't give up or think you need a twin bed. Larger sized Harry Potter bedding is available if you're willing to search a bit.

New Product Launches - Use the Net to Create "Harry Potter" Like Buzz For Your Information Product

How New Product Launches Make Your Product The Buzz Word In Your Marketplace

You've finally completed your information product, but you want to know the best way to sell it. What do you do? It's taken you ages and lots of money to complete this product, and you know, you just know, that when this baby hits the marketplace that it's going to take off right?

You're reeling with excitement from completing your product, and now you might be tempted to send some emails out to your list promoting it. You might even go out and get some joint venture partners, asking them to do a promotion for you.

But what if I told you those email strategies, while effective, would be completely flawed. You'd be leaving a ton of money on the table. Why? Because you're not crafting those email promotions into a sequence that creates a buzz.

See here is the problem with standard email promotion: it ignores the marketplace burning desires, and focuses on the product rather than the prospect! This is the difference between a Harry Potter book launch and all the buzz it creates and your product launch (or should I say flop....)

New Product Launches Focus On The Prospect, Not The Product

Why is Harry Potter so wildly popular? Because, for some reason, people really identify with the heroes and anti-heroes of the story. I'm not going to get into specifics, but basically humans really enjoy stories (in fact stories are a great selling tool, and are used in the launch). And Harry Potter is a story that the marketplace wants -- the people (prospects) identify with the struggles of Harry Potter.

So believe it or not, Harry Potter is really a marketing masterpiece, because it's catering to the burning desires in the marketplace. If I had to wager a guess, people really like the underdog angle, and the magical powers to thwart the bad guys.

Anyways, back to your product launch, and how you too can use these little know new product launch tactics to create "Harry Potter" like buzz.

The lessons here is something I learned from Dr. Stephen Covey, and simply put it's this: In order to influence someone they must first feel understood.

So what does that mean for your product launch? It means that you're email promotions need to have a super structure that has nothing to do with your information product, and everything to do with the prospect you are after!

New product launches are based on marketplace research, and strategical emails that the prospect can identify with!

How To Make Your Product Sell Like Water In The Desert

So how exactly do you create this Harry Potter like buzz for your product? Well it's actually a quite amazing process, and the scope of which goes beyond this article. But I am going to show you how to use the net to create this buzz as a starter (and you can learn more about it at your own discretion).

First you do some market research using quantcast.com. You look at sites your target customer is visiting and then create a customer profile on them. This profile is one where you come up with problems the prospect wants to have solved.

Then your email sequence is crafted around several things.

#1. First few emails identify with prospect problems and give solutions to those problems
#2. Next few emails tell your story (about your and your product) and how your story relates to the problems your prospects are having
#3. The next few emails address objections and concerns people have, and you actually clear objections before they are asked.

All of this is done BEFORE people reach you sales page. What this does is pre-sell people in a non-sales environment (because all you've been doing is talking about their problems and giving great solutions). After a short time people want more, a lot more, and are anxiously waiting on your product launch. They are waiting for you to sell them!

Finally you launch the product and a ton of sales flood in on launch day because people have been waiting to buy (from all the identification emails you did earlier).

So there you have it, how new product launches focus on the prospects not the product, and how your emails need to be strategically crafted to create pre-product buzz before letting people see the sales page. There's a lot more to this, and you can join my mailing list: information on product launches you can join my mailing list (just follow the link on the left).

What's Next for the Harry Potter Cast?

Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! The Harry Potter film franchise is just about over. Stay tuned for the future plans of the star-studded cast. Well, hello there. You're back at the ClevverTV studio, I'm Dana Ward and today we're asking the question 'what is next for the cast of Harry Potter?' It's kinda hard to believe that the final HP film just wrapped shooting - I mean, that's 8 films in all - and the stars have literally grown-up during the series. It may be hard to picture the main players NOT in Harry Potter, but it's time. Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, is reportedly signed on for a dramatic war remake, All's Quiet on the Western Front. And Emma Watson has said several times that she wants to focus on college and just live a normal student life. Plus, Rupert Grint is reportedly set to star in an upcoming comedy called Eddie the Eagle about an Olympic ski jumper... and it seems his aspirations may be uber-high, as -get this- Martin Scorsese compared Grint to the award-winning and quite respected, Leonardo DiCaprio. Wow. So out of these famed HP-ers, who do you think is going to make it after the book-turned-movie-series comes to a halt? Post your top and most successful prediction right here. I'm Dana Ward, thanks for tuning in. See ya soon on ClevverTV!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Like many others, I rushed out last July to purchase the last book in the Harry Potter series. I remember finishing the novel feeling as though it was very well wrapped up, but not particularly enjoying it, and so it has been nearly a year and a half since I picked up the series and read it front-to-back again. I am glad, however, that I did, because I found the book far more enjoyable the second time around than the first.

Part of the reason for the lack of total enjoyment, I think, came because I was reading through the book as quickly as possible, in a rush to get to the end. I didn't skip passages, but I certainly didn't dwell on them, and there were virtually no stopping points (as I recall, my inlaws were visiting, so I was, er, kind enough to allow them to play with the kids for a few hours). This time through, I had to take many breaks, which gave me a few moments to mull over various actions and scenes from the novel.

I think the other reason I didn't enjoy this one so much was due to all of the death. I noticed that in book 6, as well, and even, in part, with book 5 - with the return of Voldemort, the deaths were bound to come more frequently, and Rowling does an excellent job of keeping the fantasy realistic; several of Harry's friends and acquaintances were affected. I think I bawled right near the end, when the last joke was told, and although I expected to lose one of the pair in the last battle, I certainly didn't expect them both to go.

But, on the re-read, I knew that some of these - I forgot a couple of details - were coming; at the very least, I knew that there would be a lot of death (though she did a good job at interspacing new beginnings as well). I could focus a bit more on the story, and I was (as usual) impressed with how well it all wove together. I had completely forgotten the last trip in the Pensieve (don't ask me how), and so I got a little choked up reading through again.

All in all, Rawlings did a remarkable job of concluding the series. I don't know if I actually believe the last Potter book has been written, but she did a wonderful job of tying things up, and things that dangled in previous books were seamlessly integrated. The book was an excellent story in a series of excellent stories, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

Names For Goats - Options For You to Select When Raising Goats

Goats are a playful and delightful addition to a lot of barnyards all over the country. Thinking up of a suitable name for your caprine pet is vital, as a lot of goats live to be ten years old or more. The following are ideas of names for goats in order to stir up your imagination:

Black Sabbath
This is one of the most fitting names for goats which are dark-colored or black because Black Sabbath is a name of a heavy-metal band that features men with horns on their covers regularly.

Aberforth
In the story of Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore who was the Hogwarts Headmaster had a sibling named Aberforth. Aberforth was tried and found guilty for placing improper spells on a goat. In the Harry Potter movies, the bar of Aberforth in Hogsmeade frequently had goats portrayed running inside and outside of it.

Dyson
As it may not actually be factual that goats consume anything they can get with their mouths, they do seem like they eat much more than you would expect they could just by glancing at them. Dyson is among the popular names for goats based on the vacuum brand which guarantees to take out everything out of a carpet.

Pan
Pan is known as the horned god of playfulness and mischief in Ancient Greek mythology. Pan is depicted a lot as having a goat's horns and lower body, kind of similar to the goat version of the centaur. Pan is among the great names for goats which are playful, young and likes to have a fun time.

Puck
Puck is the mischievous and spunky fairy in the William Shakespeare play entitled 'A Midsummer's Night Dream'. Puck is portrayed time and again by actors donning goat horns.

Aries
Aries is one of the constellation names in the Zodiac. It portrays a ram which is lying down in the evening sky. The astrology symbol of Aries is regarded to be a very manly symbol, ruled by the planet Mars and fire. Aries would be the most fitting name for a red brown colored goat, or goats who have a very manly and bucky attitude.

harry potter roleplay appointment - Trailer Two, Impression

This roleplay takes place several years after the great war and consequential fall of Lord Voldemort. Many died during the war, including Harry, Ron, and Hermione--who are now highly revered by the wizarding world and have a holiday dedicated to their memory. The three heroes are still adored by many and will be remembered for generations. For the students of Hogwarts, life has never been better. With no threats to the school or ministry the educational system is as its finest. The students are well behaved and even some of the inter-house rivalry has died down (except between Gryffindor and Slytherin of course.) Underneath the surface however, not all is peaceful now that the Dark Lord is gone. The high court at the Ministry of Magic is pushing a major takeover, much to the dismay of the new Minister of Magic, and rumor has it that Death Eaters may be reforming to avenge their master! Will hogwarts once again be in turmoil? How will the wizarding world cope with this new threat? Which side will you be on? Make your mark at The Harry Potter Roleplay. ---------------------------------------- ----------------------- Accepting all characters! A Little Wine, a Little Shopping!

Spending a day in Napa and Sonoma is a delight, especially for adults, but even in wine country it's not just about the wine, there's shopping too! After all, due to the nature of alcohol, there is a limit to how much wine you can taste. Not only do you want to stop before you have a hard time climbing back into the car but also, the taste buds become saturated after a while so that unless you cleanse them with water and food, all of the wines start to taste the same. Of course, due to differences in physiology, some people will want to keep tasting new wines after others have reached their saturation point. To make sure that the trip is interesting to everybody, pick wineries later in the day that combine good wines and great gift shops. Here are some favorites and why.

When you come to wine country via the Golden Gate Bridge, there is a group of wineries on Route 121 just north of where you turn off of Route 37. Our best recommendation these days is the Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. Every day their gift shop gets more interesting. For the moment, the wine tasting is complimentary and the attached Olive Oil Company, where you can sample the flavored oils, has their own gift shop too making this stop a winning combination. Make it the first stop on the way into the valleys or the last stop on the way back to the city.

Just to the north of Jacuzzi is Cornerstone Place (look for the gigantic blue lawn chairs directly opposite the entrance to Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves). Cornerstone's combination of unique stores, fascinating galleries, playful gardens, food and wine tasting is also a great way to start or end any tour.

Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery: They have, without a doubt, the best winery gift shop in Sonoma. Because they have been around for so long (the winery started in 1906) people often relate them to their previous incarnation as a 'jug wine' producer, however today they make excellent wines that are a great value, in part because they own so many vineyards, and have for so long. For the moment, their wine tastings are also complimentary and people always come out smiling. The historic Plaza is just minutes away, which is a wonderful place for shopping, filled with a wide variety of galleries, tasting rooms, clothing stores and specialty items.

Leaving the Plaza, head north up the Valley of the Moon where there are several wineries that we think have especially great gift shops. B.R. Cohn Winery has a wonderful collection of items and their olive oils are as good as their excellent wines. A little farther up the valley is Imagery Estate Winery where many of their products are based on the original art that they commissioned for their wine bottle labels. Chateau St. Jean Winery devotes a large part of their main tasting room to their gift shop with branded products with a wine and food tilt. Just past them is Landmark Winery which has a charming gift area that includes a tribute to their John Deere family tractors.

When you go up the Napa Valley, there are some wineries that really shine gift-wise. In the heart of Rutherford, Rubicon Estate is the most elegant gift shop in Napa; stylish, unique, and accompanied by great wines, a charming espresso bar and graceful seating outside that can accommodate the whole family. Plumpjack Winery, which is just off the Oakville Crossroad, naturally offers great wines, but it also has one of the most charming gift shops, in part because it's so comfortably close to the tasting bar. At the base of the Silverado Trail, Darioush offers unusual gifts with a Persian flair in a spectacular building that shouldn't be missed.

Many times, late in the day, we have dropped shoppers of at the north end of St. Helena, close to the restaurant called simply 'Market' to enjoy the nice variety of shops. We'll catch up with them at the south end of town in the parking lot of Sunshine Market, a great place to pick up that sparkling water for the road. Thanks to the wonders of mobile phones, one segment of the party can go shopping while the others continue their wine tasting. Everyone is happy! There are a number of good wineries close to St. Helena including Beringer, St. Clement and Merryvale, all of which have very nice gift shops.

For non-winery shopping, the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, just north of St. Helena, and Copia, The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts in downtown Napa (next to the Oxbow Market) both have spectacular, cooking related gift shops. Of course there is always The Premium Outlet Mall in Napa (take the First Street exit on Route 29.) This is especially popular with international visitors who can reconnect with their old friends named Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor and Liz Claiborne (just to name a few.)

One of the most important goals on a tour is to find places that everyone in the group is going to enjoy. We make it a habit to ask our clients about themselves, so that we can connect the dots in the best way. Our client's safety, comfort and enjoyment are our main concerns, and sometimes the thing that makes the best accompaniment to a day of wine tasting is a fabulous new pair of shoes.

Bring Out The Wizard In Kids With A Harry Potter Quiz

Q. I think that Harry Potter provides an excellent learning opportunity for my kids. How can I take advantage of his popularity to teach my children something?

A. You're on the right track here I think. A Harry Potter quiz would be an outstanding vehicle to teach your children logic. You don't necessarily have to focus on particular scenes from any of the books or movies, you can use a Harry Potter quiz as a foothold into a wider learning experience.

For example, you could devise a Harry Potter quiz that sets up a scenario where Harry Potter is faced with a problem that needs to be solved. He can use 1/3 magic, 1/3 math, and 1/3 logic to solve the problem.

For example: You could create a Harry Potter quiz question that says:

"Harry Potter is lost in the Forbidden Forrest. He has forgotten his magic wand and his spell book. All he has is his watch, a telescope, and one spell that lets him understand what animals are saying but doesn't let them understand him. Help Harry Potter get back to Hogwarts."

Let me just say that I'm not sure that this particular Harry potter quiz question can even be answered. It's your job to write the quiz, I'm only here to give you ideas.

What you want to make sure is that you don't just go for the easy answer and create a Harry Potter trivia quiz. That won't do anything for your goal of creating a Harry Potter quiz that will teach your children something. Be creative and imaginative. The results of a well-crafted Harry Potter quiz will be magical if you do it right.

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince - Movie Review

The Premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince made quite a stir. Even in the small town of Cobourg there was a very long line-up to get in to the 2nd showing of the movie on it's opening day. Was it worth the wait? Honestly I can't really say it was. It was a good movie as part of the series, nice to see old familiar faces and new ones, but the story lacked depth.

This was supposed to be the steamiest and most romantic of the movies but truly none of the love storylines really followed through. In fact, most of the storylines had very little follow through at all, they all seemed to just co-mingle with the other storylines without really satisfying the viewer in any of them. It is a very long movie, likely in hopes of pleasing the audience who have read the books by not missing any major details. Sadly though, it made the movie seem rushed at times. Perhaps it would have been wiser to do what they plan on doing with the next book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and break it into a two part movie.

On a brighter note about the movie, the cinematography was wonderful. From the beautiful scenery to the action filled Quidditch match and amazing costume design, director David Yates brings it all together for some pretty awesome visual stimuli.  It was easy to see that they are catering to an older audience, for as Harry and the crew grow-up, so do their fans. The comedy in this movie far beats any of the others and adds some light to a very dark film.

The actors are all fantastic and play their roles wonderfully. The characters have great depth and Alan Rickman, who is one of my favorite actors, really comes through in this one. Helena Bonham Carter also deserves a very honorable mention as the seductively terrifying Bellatrix Lestrange. I very much missed Ralph Fiennes appearance as Lord Voldemort in this film, though Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (Ralph Fiennes Nephew) quite convincingly plays a hauntingly dark 11 year-old Tom Riddle.

All in all, I look forward to the movie coming out on DVD. I plan on buying it and watching it again. It's one of those movies that may be more rewarding watching it a second time when you already understand the plot. (Note: I did not read the Harry Potter novels and therefore did not know what to expect, nor would I have gotten the same thing out of it that those who have read it would.)
