Kids fancy dress costumes sales aren't only strong during the Halloween season. It's a huge industry all year round these days and though certain trends come and go, there are themes which are always very popular. Obviously things like certain films coming out such as Batman or Harry Potter have a big impact on a kids desire to get the latest Hogwarts attire or don the Bat-suit but more often than not the following themes for kids fancy dress costumes remains the same. SUPERHEROES - No great surprises with this one. More popular with boys than girls and for obvious reasons. Who amongst us wouldn't want to be Superman or Batman for the day. Disney themselves have been in business for decades and consequently have a huge range of characters to promote. Whether it be a contemporary or classic, Disney are guaranteed to have what you need.
HARRY POTTER - Over the last five years the popularity of Harry Potter fancy dress has soared and it's not hard to see why if one looks at some of the book sales or box office receipts. It is simply an entertainment phenomenon which has now resulted in a clamor for the most authentic looking Harry Potter related fancy dress, whether it be the Hermione Granger costume or all the necessary accessories. Either way there is now enough choice to satisfy the most ardent Harry Potter fan.
HALLOWEEN - Now a $9 billion industry, Halloween has helped make kids fancy dress costumes into the size of industry it is today as the spending for this holiday continues to grow year on year. One of the appealing things about Halloween is that any of the above themes can be used as well as the more Halloween typical outfits of Vampires, Witches and ghouls. In essence, Halloween offers the largest range of kids fancy dress costumes for that very reason.
ANGEL/FAIRY AND PIRATE - One theme that always stands out for girls is that of the angel or fairy. Mainly stemming from TV and film exposure and no doubt the desire of parents wanting to there kids in such cute costumes. Annually there is rarely a dip in the sales of angel and fairly costumes. Unlike the sales of pirate outfits which have seen a huge increase over the last five years, mainly due to the huge success of the Pirates of The Caribbean movies. This popularity, especially among young boys looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.
